Le petit-fils de Bob Marley célèbre sa Bar Mitsva

La semaine dernière, c'était l'heure pour Abraham Marley, le petit-fils de l'icône du reggae Bob Marley, de « se lever, se lever » - le titre de l'un des plus grands succès de son grand-père - pour sa bar-mitsva.

Ziggy Marley, le fier papa d'Abraham, a publié une photo de lui et du garçon bar mitzvah sur son compte Instagram, écrivant : « Je partage cette photo d'Abraham et moi lors de sa célébration de son passage à l'âge adulte, selon l'ancienne tradition, il a atteint cet âge de responsabilité et de changement. JAH. »

Bien qu'à cette époque de l'année, la portion de la Torah lue par Abraham n'était pas tirée de l'Exode, le titre d'une autre des chansons les plus célèbres de son grand-père, à en juger par les regards sérieux du beau père et du fils, vêtus de beaux costumes bleus, c'était quand même une occasion qui satisfaisait leurs âmes.

Ziggy a été élevé dans la foi rastafarienne de son père, et le rastafarisme est considéré comme une religion abrahamique, basant son système de croyances sur la Torah. La mère d'Abraham, Orly Agai Marley, est israélienne, d'origine juive iranienne.

Soutien à Israël
Après l'attaque du Hamas contre Israël le 7 octobre, Ziggy a signé une lettre de soutien à Israël publiée par la Creative Community for Peace et, le 20 octobre, a publié « Libérez Gaza du Hamas ».

Il est probable que si Bob, décédé en 1981 d'un cancer à l'âge de 36 ans, était encore en vie aujourd'hui, il aurait été fier de voir son petit-fils prendre sa place au sein de la tribu. C'est Bob qui a écrit, dans « Redemption Song » : « Combien de temps tueront-ils nos prophètes/Pendant que nous nous tenons à l'écart et regardons ? Ooh !/Certains disent que ce n'est qu'une partie du travail :/Nous devons accomplir le livre. »
